LIFE Groups are the heartbeat of First United Methodist Church.
They are small groups that meet weekly in homes or at church to study the Bible, to spend time in prayer, and to connect with others in ministry.  Being a part of a LIFE Group provides fellowship experiences that enrich and equip one’s walk with Jesus Christ.  A growing number of people are developing lasting friendships as they follow God’s Spirit through a LIFE group.  For more information about this vital ministry of First United Methodist Church, contact Pastor David Jungnickel at (847.825.3144) or by email at djungnickel@parkridgeumc.org

Pre-K thru 5th Grade

Leading children toward a deeper
awareness of Jesus Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit in their young lives is exciting and rewarding.

Every Sunday following a children's message during the Contemporary Worship, children ages preK-5th grade engage in meaningful storytelling, discussions, and activities through a variety of mediums.

A rotation model is typically used to expose children to the bible through drama, art, computers, storytelling, cooking, music and dance.  Children grow in body and wisdom through Christian Education and caring relationships in this multi-generational congregation. Come. Grow. Know.

Youth ages 6th-12th grades

Youth meet every Sunday from 10:30 to 11:30am for Christian Education. Sofas, computers and murals make for comfortable rooms designed by the youth.  Middle school youth meet separately from high school youth for age appropriate curriculum and lively discussions. Led by adult teams, youth explore current themes that connect faith and life in meaningful, practical ways. Come. Know. Grow.

All youth are welcome regardless of church affiliation to participate in the Youth Activities at First Church.

Youth group meets 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month. Middle school meets from 4:00 to 5:30. Senior high meets from 6:00 to 7:30. There is a combined meal from 5:30 to 6:00. Annual mission trips for both groups in the summer. Special outings and activities are scheduled throughout the year.

UMW is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
