Bible Study
One of the best ways that we know to encourage the Discipleship within our congregation is through study of the Bible. The Bible is our primary way of hearing God’s voice as we experience a tradition of ways God has interacted with God’s people throughout history. Some poetry, some story, some history…is the beginning of conversation with God. We continue to study and learn, ask more questions, and keep studying, learning, and asking more questions.
Wednesdays at 8:30am: Bible Study is led by Dick Roberts. Currently the class is examining the ways in which Christ was prophetically prefigured in the Old Testament.
Tuesdays at 1:00pm and 7:00pm: Disciple Our group has begun a 32 week series of Disciple 4:
Under the Tree of Life. It concentrates on the writings in the Old Testament – Ruth, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations, and Daniel. New Testament Scriptures include the Gospel of John; 1, 2, and 3 John; James; Jude; and Revelation.
At First UMC Park Ridge, “welcoming all” means that we see all persons as created in the image of God and bearing sacred worth and dignity. We invite all persons to participate fully in the life of our church regardless of age, race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental condition, marital status, family situation, or economic standing.
