Youth
Making disciples… and having a blast!
The goal of the Youth Ministry at First UMC is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world…in other words, “making disciples and having a blast!”
Our Youth Ministry consists of several elements:
Sunday Night Youth Group – We meet from 5:00 – 6:00 pm on Sunday evenings for games, conversation, mission projects, and MORE! Middle and high school students meet at the same time each week – sometimes, the groups meet together and other times, they meet separately.
Summer Mission Trips – Every summer our youth leave the comfort of their homes and travel somewhere to do a week of mission. The High School group generally travels farther for longer, more intense work trips. The Middle School group stays in Illinois and participates in less intense work projects. Our summer mission trips are paid for largely by our fundraising efforts throughout the year!
Sunday School – Every Sunday at 10:30 am, our youth gather for Sunday School. Our Middle and High School groups meet separately with their teachers for a deeper dive into Scripture and what faith means for our lives. Conversations and activities seek to take the faith to a deeper level! Our dedicated teachers make Sunday School fun, interesting, and relevant!

At First UMC Park Ridge, “welcoming all” means that we see all persons as created in the image of God and bearing sacred worth and dignity. We invite all persons to participate fully in the life of our church regardless of age, race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental condition, marital status, family situation, or economic standing.
